Horsley Village Christmas Event

On Saturday 6th December between 11am and 3pm the village will be filled with Christmas activities and, on behalf of all of your local retailers, we would love you to come.

A village like ours thrives on the regular custom of local residents, workers and guests, and the season gives us all an opportunity to thank you. for your customer, as well as showing off our wares! We’ve laid on all sorts of fun for children and adults alike and there are some opportunities for you to win vouchers for some of our products and services…

First and foremost - we’d love you to come wearing your favourite Christmas jumper. If you do that you’ll be grated one entry into our Horsley Prize Pot (to find out nmore about that, read on). If you then agree to have your photo taken in said jumper, and posted on Horsley Hub - the Horsley facebook page - you’ll be granted another entry.

You can earn further entries by solving a riddle or collecting all 9 stamps for your Horsley Passport - start by picking up a map and other details at the Woking and Sam Beare Hospice Shop on Station Parade. While you are there you could take a peek at their Christmas goodies stall or buy a raffle ticket for their Christmas Hamper.

There’s a separate window-based quiz for younger children as well as a chance to visit Santa in his Grotto at the Library and/or decorate a gingerbread man with the WI at Kirthon.

You can guess the weight of the turkey at Conisbees, Stop for a bite at CF Hall and buy your Christmas lights at half-price there, relax with a head massage at Serenity, guess how many sweets in the Newsagent’s jar, enjoy a hot chocolate at Quaich, have a go at a lucky dip at Daisy Mae or QEF, and enjoy a cup of mulled wine and a mince pie with yourEast Horsley Parish Councillors outside Horsley Village Stores.

and just after three we’ll be asking our two rectors, Renos Pittarides and Phil Herrington to pick the winners from all the entries for the Horsley Prise Pot whic looks a bit like this at present:
